Qt Creator crashes after pressing "Design" button

I am a Qt 4.9.2 user and I am using MVSC 2017 compiler to build a QML project. I am trying to set up a qml project, I can build and run the project and normally see the UI. but when I jump into the Design tab on any project, Qt crashes immediately and stops working. It only happens with qml projects, I can use design tab with ui. What can be the reason?

@EnginB First we need to clarify wording: what you mean is not Qt (which is a C++ framework), but QtCreator which is an IDE.
Do you have any anti virus software running?
How did you install QtCreator?
