ShowFullScreen() on a QWidget doesn't remove Mac OSX Menu Bar

  • We get our application full screen alright, but the OSX Menu bar is still shown above it...

Is there any way around this problem?

  • I am using showFullScreen off my MainWindow and that is working fine. Maybe your calling showFullScreen on a QWidget that is not your MainWindow?

  • I am calling it on a QWidget derived class, yes. I'm building a video conferencing solution. The window that needs to be full screen is not the application's main window, but a transient window that shows and hides according to the application's needs.

  • According to the sources, the unified toolbar is removed on the Mac on QMainWindow based classes only.
