How about visual studio and QT?

I'm on a project at a company which has an old C++ MFC application which should be rebuild (In my point of view).
The developers use Visual Studio for the c++ development.
I've we could start a new rebuild in QT, would QT Creator then the preferred IDE? Which would probable result into some protests..... :)
Or is using VS2017 for example as easy as using QT Creator for the QT platform?
qmake can also create Visual Studio solution files and there is also a Qt VS Addin
