Qt Creator suddenly says "No valid kits found."

  • Every so often, I'll open up a project I've been working on, and Qt Creator will complain that the project "is not yet configured." And under that, it'll say "no valid kits found." But other projects (and even other copies of the same project) open just fine with kits galore on the same system.

The problem just magically goes away in most cases, if I close and re-open... I have no idea what the pattern is. But today I have a stubborn one that won't fix itself.

I have every possible option installed, and "manage kits" shows all the ones I expect:

Does anyone know why this happens and how to fix it? I have every available Qt kit and option installed (since I find that the Maintenance Tool doesn't work), and other projects work fine.

    Thanks!

  • Turns out this is a UI defect. Bug report filed: QTCREATORBUG-22353
