Remote Qt Viking
-
We are a consulting company with a focus on Qt on the desktop and Linux embedded. We are currently searching for the next developer to join us. We assume this position will be remote, but working in our office in Odense, Denmark or Barcelona, Spain would be great as well.
You must be in Europe, though. And we can not offer relocation for this position.
You should have a university level degree in computer science, some years professional coding experience and a lot of C++/Qt experience. A Qt certification is nice, but if you don't have it, we will help you get it. If you are active in the Qt community, that's a big plus. KDE or other Qt based open source projects are also interesting experience for us.
For other projects we might use you for later, it would be helpful if you know web coding (with one of the many flavours of it), Linux/Yocto, Windows or something else that might be related to a Qt based application.
You will be working on our customer projects. This could be embedded or desktop, Windows, Mac or Linux, QML or widgets. We don't know yet, but expect you to be able to handle it.
Are you:
- Already in Europe?
- Interested in a position in a consulting company?
- A great Qt and C++ coder?
- Very self motivated?
- Fluent in git, creator, ssh, etc?
When we write "a great Qt and C++ coder", we actually mean it. This is a demanding development position. Please only apply for it if you truly believe you are a good Qt developer and that you can do a better development job than the developers working for our customers. We believe our developers are so good that we don't need to manage their tasks directly. You will need to demonstrate that you can work on your own on the tasks and seek help when necessary - you will meet no micro management here, unless you are on a project where the customer performs this. But with much freedom comes a lot of responsibility. Make sure you are ready for this responsibility. If you are, we can offer you a great job in a company you will love being a part of.
The common language is English, so you need to be able to both speak, read and write it reasonably well. We do have English classes available for all employees, but this is only supposed to be for improving.
Thank you for considering a position at Viking Software.
