I just solved both issues, displaying std::vector item values and hanging of gdb in qtcreator 4.9: If I switch on both "Use Debugging Helper" and "Load system GDB pretty printers", gdb hangs on the first breakpoint. If one of them is switched off, gdb works properly. But "Load system GDB pretty printers" seems to be useless for me now, and "Use Debugging Helper" provides exactly that functionality I missed here.
Thanks for your help with this. The Qt Creator editor is a good alternative. I did run Dependency Walker - long time since I have looked at the output from this and not sure what I am seeing right now, but I've pasted the an abreviated version of the output below (too long to paste the whole thing) if it tells you something. Thanks again.

Yes, "Version" is mandatory value for every IFW component. The version number is the mechanism to promote updates (online) to users.
For example if you wanted to change the display name in some root component you want to promote that as an update for the online (installer) users.
The installer "sees" the updates when componet's Version number has increased.
I have been seeing the same symptoms in Qt Creator for a while - currently I'm on Qt Creator 4.9.1 on macOS Mojave 10.14.5.
The issue was accurately described - the grey border on the left, top, and bottom flickers light grey and dark grey in step with the cursor flickering on and off. The flickering goes away for a bit if I quit and restart Qt. I have tried switching color schemes, and that only helps in the sense that the flickering is less noticeable when it occurs, but it does not eliminate it and it is still noticeable.
I believe I started seeing this issue after I upgraded to Mojave which introduced dark mode, but perhaps it was there before, when I upgraded Qt Creator.
Has someone already filed a bug for this, or do we need to do that?
Thank you very much!
This is pretty close to... but still required mouseclicks. If one is already running(and under debug) after changing deploy profile (via cmd+t I) still need to change Debugger preset, otherwise I'm only allowed to pause the current debug rather than run a new one.
At least this is something better than before, thank you again ;)
