Unsolved Error installing PySide6 on Ubuntu
-
Hi!
I'm trying to install Pyside6 on Ubuntu on a Conda environment using pip. I get the following error:
File "basicLayouts.py", line 5, in <module>
from PySide6.QtCore import Qt
ImportError: /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.25' not found (required by /home/joel/anaconda3/lib/python3.7/site-packages/PySide6/Qt/lib/libQt6Core.so.6)Any ideas why PySide6 is not installing correctly? OS version is Ubuntu 16.04.4
Thanks!

Hi and welcome to devnet,
I don't recall pip installing it's own copies of glibc.
That said, Ubuntu 16.04 is not listed on the supported platform, the minimum is 20.04.
See here the list of supported platforms.

Thank you for the prompt response!
I have moved to CentOS8 .2 (which is supported) and I now, after resolving package dependency errors, I get a different error:qt.qpa.wayland: Creating a fake screen in order for Qt not to crash
I get a window but it is not responsive (menus are empty). Any thoughts as to how to solve this issue? I'm trying to run a graphical desktop application on a VM running CentOS 8.2.
Thanks!

Which desktop environment are you running ?
From the looks of it, you have a Wayland server for the graphical rendering. -
I believe I'm running the default which is Wayland.

Might be related to QTBUG-98010.
