Unsolved Qt program built in windows 10 run slower than one built in windows 7
-
I have a Qt program built using Qt5.9.8 on windows 7. The startup load time for the program after build is normally 6s. When I transferred the source code to windows 10 and build it in Qt Creator, the startup load time for the program increased to over 2 minutes, can anyone help me with this? Thanks!

Hi
Without code its impossible to guess at.
What do you do at start up that can take that long? -
One thing I notice is that I am using the qt package mingw 32 bit for windows 7 on windows 10, does that affect the processing speed? Also does this depend on the code that I run?

@ablan
Hi
Not in that order of magnitude.
Was it also 32 bit on win 7? -
@mrjj
Yes, it is also 32 bit on win 7. -
@ablan
And it still Qt5.9.8 on win 10 ?Did you try a clean GUI project to see if that also start slow ?
-
@mrjj
Yes, it is also Qt5.9.8 on win 10. I tried a clean GUI project, it started normal. I used Qt5.9.9 to build the project, the load time reduced to 1 minute. -
@ablan
Maybe Qt5.9.8 has some issues with win 10.
Could you try 15.5 just for test to see ? -
@mrjj I am downloading Qt5.15. Another thing I notice is that when I use the .exe built on win 7 and transferred it to win 10, the load time remains at 6s. Conversely, if I use the .exe built on win 10 and transferred it to win 7, the load time is also 6s.

@mrjj
The source code has compilation errors for 15.5 and 12.9. I tried transferring the .exe built on win 10 to another laptop with win 10, this time the load time for the .exe reduced to 10s. I suspect this problem is due to a difference of hardware rather than a difference of OS.
