Unsolved Qt Creator: two versions with separate settings (4.6.x and 4.7.x)
-
Although some of my projects are loving the latest Qt Creator 4.7.x with its new clang features, some other projects are nothing but red squiggly lines and we can't seem to find a way to improve that visual distraction with the latest version of Qt Creator.
So, I have now installed and am running 4.6.x and 4.7.x, and switching between the two based on the current project.
However, I haven't found a way to separate their settings. Every time I switch between the two versions, certain settings are corrupted/erased, primarily in the Projects area and especially the "Run" options are lost. In some cases the projects have become very confused and I have had to re-setup the project with Kits, etc.
So, is there a way to have 4.6.x and 4.7.x installed so that all settings are separated between the two?
Platform of interest is Ubuntu/Linux.
Thank you very much!
Matthew
PS: FWIW, these are all embedded projects of various natures, from embedded linux/Qt projects to bare-metal manually created makefile based projects.

I have the same problem, and I created two shortcuts, one of them with
-noload ClangCodeModel
.So I can use latest Creator for all projects, but Clang only for projects I know to work well.
