Unsolved Installing Qt on Ubuntu with Docker
-
Hi,
I am trying to install qt-opensource-5.11.2 on an aws ubuntu instance with docker but the build takes more than 3-4 hours to compile the libraries and the directory has huge number of libraries which is not the same as when i use the .run installer on my linux PC.
I just want to build the C++ libraries and create Jenkins job for continuous deployment.FROM jenkins/jenkins:lts
RUN wget http://download.qt.io/official_releases/qt/5.11/5.11.2/single/qt-everywhere-src-5.11.2.tar.xz
RUN tar -xvf qt-everywhere-src-5.11.2.tar.xz
RUN ./configure -prefix /opt/Qt -release -opensource -confirm-license -static -qt-xcb -no-glib -no-pulseaudio -no-alsa -opengl desktop -nomake examples -nomake tests -
Hi and welcome to devnet,
That's already what you are doing: you are building the C++ libraries.
Do you have a specific set of modules you need ?

@SGaist I am specially looking for QtIFW module. I tried decompressing the file I downloaded from https://download.qt.io/official_releases/qt-installer-framework/3.0.4/ but i couldn't find the /bin/binarycreator executable for linux. Thanks for responding!!

If you used the source archive then it’s normal, as suggested by the name, it’s the module sources.
Since you have an Unbuntu machine, you should be able to install the distribution provided Qt and then build the module with it.
