Unsolved Is Qt installable available for Linux armhf 32 bit?
-
Hi,
I am looking to install Qt on Linux armhf 32 bit (Running Linux Debian Stretch 32 bit on 32 bit Android device).
Please let me know if there is Qt installable for this architecture.
I have gone through the Download page and tried to run 32-bit installable but can't get it working.
Error
cannot execute binary file: Exec format error
Or should I take source code and compile it?
Thanks for any inputs to resolve this.

On second thoughts - how about installing it from https://packages.debian.org/stretch/qt5-default ?

Hi @PaperMoon Yes, this would be possible.
but the answer also depends on what you like to do. do you want to build own programs or just use Qt programs included in stretch?
for the first, cross compiling Qt yourself may be better as you also need to compile your programs.
for the second, I'd use what debian provides.

@aha_1980 - Thanks. Yes, I am looking to build my own program using Qt. I reckon I will explore both the routes. To begin with, I have started installing packages from debian repository.

Hi,
In any case, no, there's no pre-built installer for the ARM architecture currently.

Update:
@aha_1980 - I ended up compiling Qt on armhf architecture. Thanks.

@PaperMoon: Glad to hear you got it running. cross compilation can sometimes be an adventure ;)
