Unsolved Limited natvis support for Visual Studio
-
I assume, that I'm not the only developer using Visual Studio for creating applications with Qt. And obviously debugging is a must-have when coding huge applications.
But with a total of only 42 types supported in the current qt5.natvis file, it seems like noone really cares about Visual Studio developers.Should I write them myself or can I hope, that a proper natvis file will be supplied in the future?

Hi
I think they care just as much for
Visual Studio developers as they do for devs on IOS, Android, linux, MacOS and mingw on windows. If you feel more should be added, I suggest you add a feature request at
https://bugreports.qt.io/People can vote for it. And if popular idea, something might happen. :)

Report has been created, in the meantime I'll propably have to improve that file on my own.

You can check the existing types here https://github.com/qt-labs/vstools/blob/dev/src/qtvisualizer/qt5.natvis
It would be nice, to have that for every single type in Qt, since by default it doesnt show any valueable information, mostly just raw pointers to the object. One example could be every Json-related type (http://doc.qt.io/qt-5/json.html)
