Unsolved Wayland compositor examples won't compile
-
Any of the examples containing wayland.compositor 1.0 won't compile. I get the following error:
qrc:///qml/main.qml:52 module "QtWayland.Compositor" is not installed
Should I install it seperately? I have 5.9

Hi and welcome to devnet,
Did you check that you have all libraries installed ?
How did you install Qt ? -
Hi :)
I installed Qt opensource from the webpage. How do I check if I have libraries? I work on the newest Kubuntu -
There is an installation page for Ubuntu, which should work also for kubuntu.
-
@Eddy But I have Qt installed. Only examples containing qt wayland don't work. QtWayland is the main reason why I need Qt ;(
-
How did you install Qt ?
Did you check that you have the QtWayland module there ?
-
I have downloaded an open source installer from https://info.qt.io/download-qt-for-application-development
I don't even know how to check if I have QtWayland there. -
Take a look at the content of the lib folder in your Qt installation.
-
I don't have that library.
-
Which version of Qt is it ?
-
it is 5.9
-
What exact OS are you on ?
-
Kubuntu 17.04 64-bit.

Just in case someone else lands here when trying to build Wayland examples, I had the same problem and @SGaist helped me over on this thread to find a workaround. Basically I just had to build the qtwayland module from source and install it.
