Unsolved Doubt about Licensing
-
Hello, I made a software using Qt and PyQt and I want to sell it, I do not want to share the code of my software, which licenses should I buy?
And I must buy the license only once or for a period of time?
I appreciate the attention! -
Hi
This is user forum about programming.
It would be far better to ask
http://doc.qt.io/qt-5/commerciallicense.html -
@Pedro_Monteiro
To add to mrjj check out the LGPL referenced as first on the given webpage. This license might be already enough for you. -
Mind you PyQt is not LGPL. They offer commercial licence and GPL. So if you want to distribute and keep source code you need to get their commercial license.
Thats why I moved from PyQt to PySide. But the drawback is PySide only support s Qt4.

Would it be worth just purchasing QT at that point , I am wondering?

@Lineaxe If your PyQt application is not GPL then you have to by a license for PyQt. Not sure whether you need a commercial license for Qt - maybe you can use LGPL version.
