Unsolved QtCreator: weird scrolling
-
Steps to reproduce:
- Place the cursor somewhere.
- Scroll down with a mouse wheel so the cursor is not in sight any more.
- Select some text.
- Start scrolling up or down with the mouse wheel.
And instead of scrolling, it jumps up for a big amount.
3.5.1 or 3.1.1
Is it a bug? Is there a workaround?

I believe there is a similar behaviour under windows. An I think I came across the same behaviour with other programs especially WinWord. You leave the cursor somewhere scoll to completely different location in your document and think that the cursor is there too. But the cursor seem to remain in the original location. You notice when start writing. This is a complete nuisance. On the other hand it makes also sense for word processors. I had seen an explanation long ago.Anyway, for Ubuntu I do not know, it could be a similar reason. It is some sort of decorrelation between cursors respectively keyboard activity and mouse. AFAIK you can circumvent it by doing a double at the position where you want to be and then mark the stuff with the mouse. Might be worth a check.

@koahnig , after selection the input cursor is clearly at the end of the selection.
And it's not like it jumps to the previous position of the cursor. The length of that jump looks like a fixed amount.
