Updated maintenance tool surprised me (SOLVED)
-
With updated maintenance tool I need to enter my personal login data. What does it mean? Why I need to enter my login account in maintenance tool to update Qt packages? Why you Digia want me to do it? I installed community edition not enterprise. What's the idea of it's all?

There is a blog post around this, 2 actually that explains the situation:
New installer: http://blog.qt.io/blog/2015/05/04/new-unified-qt-online-installer-available/
Update after issue with login: http://blog.qt.io/blog/2015/05/06/changing-qt-account-to-be-optional-in-the-online-installer/Regards

@TheBadger Thank for you for information!

For those interested that have not seen it yet, there was a new blog post about the updated installer: http://blog.qt.io/blog/2015/05/12/qt-online-installer-update-released-with-optional-qt-account-sign-in/

I know this is marked solved, but I actually am wondering how you got the updated maintenance tool in the first place? Now Digia has changed thing, I can't even run my maintenance tool. I get "Network error while downloading 'https://download.qt-project.org/online/qtsdkrepository/windows_x86/winrt/qt5_54/Updates.xml?261209217': Connection Closed"
I searched everywhere and have not found an answer, I assume though it's because the existing maintenance tool is not compatible with the new setup (account required). With a product released, I can't just re-install Qt easily (i.e., if it installed a 5.3.x version different than we deployed with, I must know that and clean things up). -
@wesblake the "account required" has be removed from the latest version
-
The problem is, I can't get to the latest version without a full re-install. The pre account required maintenance tool I have will no longer run. I was hoping there was a way to get it to update itself without a full re-install.

AFAIK, you should be able to get the new version of the installer by doing an update through the Maintenance Tool selecting "Update Components”
-
Any updates? I'm still having this problem. Tried from 2 networks too now. The problem is WHEN I use Maintenance Tool selecting "Update Components". It goes to search for the updates and almost immediately comes back with the error. Screenshot:

link textYour local config is pointing to qt-project.org, which was shut down recently if I'm not mistaken. Unfortunately, I don't know of a way to update the config.
You could try this tool to create a custom repository... https://forum.qt.io/topic/43349/slow-downloads-with-the-online-installer-try-this-tool ...but it was designed for use with a fresh new installation. I have not tested it with an existing installation, so please use it at your own risk. (Back up your entire Qt folder before you try it. If something goes wrong, delete the folder and restore your backup)

The files were moved to a different location, but the files themselves are exactly the same as before. You will be able to download the same version of Qt 5.3.x as you had before.
If you're worried about the version, you can download an Offline copy from the archives: http://download.qt.io/archive/qt/5.3/
