Which components should I install?
-
Hi!
I have Visual studio 2013 Ultimate and I would like to use Qt within Visual Studio.
Which components should I install? I have Windows 7 32-bit
At the moment I would like to use qSerialTerm and SQLite. Maybe in the future I could use OpenGl (but later in future) -
Probably you should check with the online downloader if there is a pre-built for VS2013 still available. My guess is yes, but I do not know. if you find a fitting pre-built for VS2013, 32 bit and OpenGL install the Qt libraries and possibly the VS-Addins and you be set. Alternatively you may also download and install through this prebuilt and the VS-addin. However, the online downloader may provide addtional information and easier for you.
Otherwise you may have to build Qt libs yourself. Here you can find the source. Here are the gudielines.
Note: all this refers to the open source versions. Checkout if the different licenses are what you need.

Hi.
I want to download via the online downloader.
Online downloader asks which components I want to install and show a components tree.
Under Qt 5.4 among others there is : a) MinGW 4.9.1 (32 bit) OpenGL
b) msvc2013 32-bit OpenGL
Which one should I choose?
Are the Qt libraries installed when installing one of the above?
I don't see a VS Add-in...
Also there is under Source Components an Add-Ons selection (Qt 5.4>Source Components>Add-Ons). Do I install that? -
I am aiming for the open source

b) should be right because this is msvc2013. VS2013 is the same.
The other option is MinGW (an open source compiler; GNU C++) for windows. There you have to install also the compiler, I think an entry in Tools. But you can't use it from Visual Studio. You would need also Qt creator, which is the IDE coming with Qt.
Check if you find somewhere else vs addin. I do not know, since I do not have a version of VS installed. The online installer does typically a pretty good job in finding and providing matching combinations. -

I have used the online downloader and have downloaded msvc2013 Qt5,5 without OpenGl.
I have also downloaded and installed the VS add-in.I have created a hello project in VS with following code:
#include <QApplication>
#include <QLabel>int main(int argc, char *argv[])
{
QApplication app(argc, argv);
QLabel *label = new QLabel("Hello Qt!");
label->show();
return app.exec();
}Code does not compile as it cannot find included files QApplication, QLabel.
What should I do? -
Did you check out this guide?
You have a licensed version otherwise you cannot install vs-addin.
I can hardly remember using Qt4 with a much older version of Visual Studio. All setup was done through vsaddin. No way I can help you here. I have not done this since switching some time back to Qt 5.
BTW you may use also Qt libs and VS compiler through Qt creator. Already in the past there was not much feedback on Visual Studio and vs-addin. Not sure if this is still the same, but I fear so. At least with Qt creator and vs compiler some more isers seem to be around for helping.
