AFAIK, there's no equivalent for the LinuxFB plugin. Out of curiosity which background are you thinking about ? The one from your widget or while your application is loading ?

For example, if I have a QDialog in windowed mode and move it, what color will it be when it redraws the empty space? With QWS you could select that color.

From my understanding of "this":http://qt-project.org/doc/qt-5/embedded-linux.html is that you won't have that option at hand

There is no equivalent. You can create a fullscreen widget that just fills itself with the desired color.
