[SOLVED] Stupid Qt Creator Build Question - Local Directories
-
I've been googling this for a while to no avail, so either it's so simple that no idiot's dared to ask, or..well, that's most likely the case:
I've on a few different occasions attempted to help folks by trying to build their Qt applications (altcoin wallets...but I don't think that's important for this), but I must be doing this incorrectly...
I open the .pro file in Qt Creator, build it, and I'm able to use the app just fine. No one else can, however. It seems as though, when building, it's hardcoding my local directories into the qt app. I don't know for sure that this is the overall problem, but it can't help, lol!
Any suggestions here?

Hi and welcome to devnet,
Do you mean build on your computer and run the application on other computers ?

Thanks for the reply!
Yes..that is exactly what I'm trying to do. Sorry for what is likely an RTFM question - couldn't find much help on google.

This question comes generally once or more per week on this forum
You have JKSH's wiki "entry":http://qt-project.org/wiki/Deploy_an_Application_on_Windows
And for more details you have the "Windows Deployment Guide":http://qt-project.org/doc/qt-5.0/qtdoc/deployment-windows.html

Is it much different from linux? I probably should have specified that I'm running a linux system (Ubuntu 12.04)
-
Yes it is but there's also a guide "here":http://qt-project.org/doc/qt-5/linux-deployment.html
