5.2 Alpha build multimedia module for ios
-
Hi,
now thats the Alpha is available i wanted to try some applications using the multimedia module. Therefore i downloaded the 5.2 tar ball. After extracting i did:
@cd qtbase
./configure -xplatform macx-ios-clang -developer-build -release -sdk iphonesimulator
make
cd ../qtmultimedia
../qtbase/bin/qmake
make@But the compilation fails with error:
@make[2]: *** No rule to make target/Users/username/qt5.2/qtbase/lib/libQt5Quick.a', needed by
/Users/username/qt5.2/qtbase/lib/libQt5MultimediaQuick_p.a'. Stop.
make[1]: *** [sub-qtmultimediaquicktools-make_first] Error 2@I use 10.8.5 and IOS sdk 7.0.
Does anyone know what to do?
Thanks!

Build first qtscript and qtquick1, however I have not been able to use QMediaPlayer with an mp3 in the simulator.

Hi cristeab,
thanks for your advance. On the second try this worked. I had to extract the tar archive, after running make clean on the old one compilation was still failing.
The only drawback now: Generating a xcode project from qt using the multimedia module works fine, but unfortunately
@QAudioDeviceInfo::availableDevices(QAudio::AudioOutput).size()@ says that i don't have any output devices in my simulator, but sound in general is woking in the simulator. Is this a bug or strange behaviour of the simulator?

Probably you need to ask this on Apple forums. What do you mean by " sound in general is woking in the simulator". Have you been able to play an mp3 file in the simulator ?

No,
I didn't test playing mp3 with an Qt application. I want to play raw audio data using QAudioOutput.
With sound in general i mean: It is possible to have an audio output within the simulator (e.g. youtube). Hence there is anything to play audio. But it might be possible that there are no devices found by QAudioOutput because there is no real device, just an emulated one or however the simulator is realized. -
Actually when I try to use QMediaPlayer I get an error message in the output window of XCode IDE. This is an internal message of QtMultimedia module, basically saying that some plugins cannot be found. I assume that in the simulator the audio backends used by QtMultimedia module are not available, but I am not sure. Maybe someone involved in porting Qt to iOS can confirm this.
