Message transfer through bluetooth
-
Hello guys,
Here I am with another question...
I want to send a message typed in my acer tablet to a galaxy note throught bluetooth.
I tried the Qt Bluetooth example http://doc.qt.digia.com/qtmobility/btchat.html
But I am getting an error "qbluetoothserviceinfo.h: No such file or directory"
Struggling with this example.
Do I need to install any plugins or install any bluetooth API ???
Not sure as to how to go about it ??Please do help :(
Thanks a lot in advance,
Mansi -
Hi,
IIRC If you are using Qt 5 you need the QtConnectivity module otherwise the QtMobility module
-
Hi,
Right, QtMobility module is the one which I require, but from where do I install it ??I am using Qt 5.1.0.... I tried searching for it... Couldn't find anywhere.. tried searching for the libraries too...
Is there a way to install from Qt...Is there something that I am missing ??
If you see this link,http://qt-project.org/groups/qt-contributors-summit-2013/wiki/Qt_Android_Planning_CS_2013 and http://qt-project.org/forums/viewthread/23674, shows that using bluetooth is kind of not possible :( -

Hello,
thanks for that link... Can that be used for developing apps on android ?? -
How do I start using it with my Qt. I mean how do I install it.. shouldn't there be a .exe file to run it... This is very confusing and bluez is for linux or windows ?

Download the source code
-
Compile using your current Qt. Note that, Perl is needed!
- qmake
- make
- make install
- Using it as a normal Qt module. which means
- QT += bluetooth
- #include <QtBlueTooth>
-
-
I am following your procedure.. It is giving me this error "Project MESSAGE: Unsupported bluetooth platform, will not build a working QBluetooth library
Project MESSAGE: Either no Qt dBus found or no Bluez headers"Do I need to install dev package for bluetooth ?? If so, is it this "libbluetooth-dev " ??

Yes and yes
-
But my doubt is ... can it work on android ??

Hello,
I am still struggling with the installation of connectiivity.
I installed all the dependent libraries but now im stuck at this error which says "systemd system unit directory is required".
Thinking its a library I tried searching for it, but couldn't find it.
When I checked in google, I found out its a session manager and still in develeopment. Referred this link https://wiki.ubuntu.com/systemd.
How do I go about it ??? Kindly help.
