[SOLVED] Windows 8, Qt 5.0.2 compiler error, and dll missing, help!
-
- Dll error
So firstly i get an error of msvcp110.dll missing in a messagebox everytime i open a project but i can just click ok and messagebox goes away
i downloaded it and moved it at C:\Qt\Qt5.0.2\5.0.2\msvc2012_64\bin now i get!http://i.imgur.com/LbVaanP.png(1)!
- Compiler error,
:-1: error: Qt Creator needs a compiler set up to build. Configure a compiler in the kit options.
i searched a bit and found that i should install the compiler manually so i downloaded this
"http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/hh852363.aspx":http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/hh852363.aspxin desctiption it clearly says
Visual C++ Compilers and C Runtime (CRT)and now what? :/
Tools->Options->Build & run and then?
i am new to qt on windows, didn't had these problems on ubuntu -
Runtime is not enough! You need the compiler itself. Install Visual Studio 2012 or possibly MS SDK (but I think MSVC is not there anymore).

Hi,
You have to install VisualStudio 2012, then you should be good
-
i'm using Qt+ MingW on Win 8 without problems .

Hello thanks for your answers.
VisualStudio 2012 requires 8 gb of diskspace if you do the full setup8GB is too much, and i want to install only the necessary.
From the screenshot below which ones should i install? -
none of them are necessary for building Qt applications.

I had 2 answers saying to me that i need VisualStudio 2012....
And this is the setup dialog of it. :/ -
Yes but those checkboxes are about additional stuff. You can deselect them all, and VS will install "just" the base package.
-
Thank you, both dll and compiler issues got fixed. :)

Cool, have fun!
