[Solved] Deleted Member's Profiles
-
I have been going through some previous posts/topics and saw few profiles with "Deleted Members". So i need to ask when does a member gets deleted/banned from the qt developers community. Do they delete their own profile or they are deleted by the community. There are also profiles with 1.4k post marked as deleted members.
I searched for the same but didnt find much information on this.
Thanks :)
Edit: Dont know which forum to post this topic, So i posted in Beta Testing, can be moved to the appropriate forum :)

AFAIK there are no members deleted by the community. The profiles you found are deleted by the members themselves.
Deleting may be done also by Trolls, but those are spamming profiles.

Thanks for the reply Koahnig, I just got a bit confused as i saw few members who were actually contributing to the forum and now are maked as "Deleted Members".
The only thing that i found out was in "Forum Rules":http://qt-project.org/forums/rules
"Postings that ignore those rules will be deleted and the respective owner will be asked to buy us buns - or will have to face more serious consequences".
Thanks for the clarification :)

Also when devnet moved to qt-project members were asked to join again. So everybody that didn't visit devnet since then is also a deleted member , I think.

AFAIK that is not the case. "See also this response.":https://qt-project.org/forums/viewthread/16708/#84359

So shouldn't these profile links be disabled as whenever we click on them it leads to
"The following errors were encountered
The member profile you requested is currently not availableReturn to the previous page
Qt Developer Network home page"
Also I found that the deleted members are still the Founder/Owner of some groups e.g
"Qt India":http://qt-project.org/groups/qt_india. There should be an option to apply for Group moderator/Owner if the profile does not exists. -

I already have this point for our team discussion, hope we will decide something soon and implement it :)
Thank you for suggestion.

Thanks for the reply, One more question, What about the groups that have "deleted members" as founder/owner, shouldn't there be a new owner/moderator for those groups.
