Uninstall: "system32 will be deleted completely"
-
I just downloaded and installed Qt Creator 2.6.0 but it wasn't the right thing and I need to uninstall. When I try to uninstall from the control panel, I get a message that says:
"Setup is now ready to begin removing from your computer. The program directory C:\Windows\system32 will be deleted completely, including all content in that directory!"
This is obviously pretty disturbing if true, since it would hose my machine. Any advice? I'm on Win8 64-bit. Thanks!

The maintenance tool is supposed to remove its own installation directory. That message will appear if you installed Qt Creator into C:\Windows\system32
If that's what you did, I recommend that you manually (and carefully) delete Qt Creator's files, and remove the entry from your list of installed software.
If that's not what you did, then you've found a bug

It's a bug then. I installed it to C:\Qt.
I just noticed that if I run C:\Qt\qtcreator-2.6.0\QtCreatorUninst.exe directly, it correctly says “Setup is now ready to begin removing from your computer. The program directory C:\Qt\qt-creator-2.6.0 will be deleted completely, including all content in that directory!”
However, when I in run uninstall from the Programs and Features section of the Win8 Control Panel, then it threatens to delete System32.
