[Solved] Qmovie not working in ARM platform
-
Please wrap your code in '@' tags and format it so that it is more readable. Try adding some debug information to verify that gif plugin is actually loaded by the running app (for example, check QMovie::supportedFormats()).
-
dear sierdzio,
thanks for immediate response.
your right. when i check QMovie::supportedFormats() in QtSdk it shows ("gif", "mng") but in Embedded platform it shows only ().so plugin is not installed.
I added it in plugin folder.how to make use of it. -
I think it should be put in <executable dir>/imageformats/libqgif.so
-
thanks for reply,
my executable dir is "/home/testing_gif".
i placed plugin as "home/imageformats/libqgif.so" also as "home/libqgif.so"
still it shows only ().plugin not installed. -
Place it in /home/testing_git/imageformats/libqgif.so, then (assuming your executable is /home/testing_gif/executable).
-
actually my executable is testing_gif
-
Oh I see. This should work, then. Was the plugin compiled for ARM?
-
Not actually. after compiling the plugin in ARM now its working.
Thanks a lot.appreciate your help. -
Pleasure. Please prepend "[Solved]" to the subject of this topic so that it can help other people, too.
-
yea did :-)
-
Prepend != append ;) But never mind that. Have a good day!
Edit: What? What are you talking about? ;-) ; André

Maybe you can help me;
In QT my movie on a label , animated gif , work perfect but not in the ARM platform... Beagleboard.
I now my way around in Qt but I am new to the world of the beagleboard.
Is the pluing libqgif.so? (Is that not a shared library? Or is it one and the same?
If yes:
How do I compile it? And where to put it? My executable is in the folder: root/home/test. Do I also include the animated gif here?Thak you
-
Wow, sorry for the bad spelling ... :) know, plugin and thank you .... and so on :0)
-
Yea you need libqgif.so in the target library directory.
for me its,
@/exports/nfsroot-ccwmx51js/usr/local/QtEmbedded-4.7.1/plugins/imageformats/@And this libqgif should be arm compiled.you can get that in
http://rpmfind.net/linux/rpm2html/search.php?query=libqgif.so
Then it should work.

Hello all,
Is they anyway to put the libqgif.so in a different directory than in <executable dir>/imageformats/libqgif.so ?
How can we do that? Thanks in advance
