Linux repository
-
Hi guys,
After moving to open governance are there any plans to make latest QtSDK releases avaliable in Linux repositories (specially ubuntu repos.)?
PS
Most Linux repositories currently have old versions of QtSDK. -
Any idea guys!

I think that having Ubuntu repositories up-to-date is a function of Ubuntu and whoever packages their distributions, rather than anything that directly comes from the Qt community.
-
Qt now under Digia rules... Is there any new consideration for updating ubuntu repositories?
I asked ubuntu guys and they said as mlong said but in invert way!!!!!
I'm still think that updating ubuntu repositories has to be the task of Qt project specially there is PPA for many other projects https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+ppas

Digia or Qt community doesn't make an update of linux distros repositories. This is a work for distro owners. If you have an old Qt then you have to download newer version of Qt and install it from hand.

Thousand of open source projects push their recent releases by themselves to own repositories or to the public Linux repositories thus downloading & updating process will be much practical than downloading by online or offline installer
