Adhering to the "single point of exit" dogma leads to unreadable code if you have more than two or three nested if statements and it puts else blocks far away from the corresponding if. I regard this as bad coding style and urge all my fellow programmers I'm responsible for to not use this pattern.

Also, coding style is clearly a matter of taste - it's not helpful to bring in such topics into an obviously technical discussion. Please discuss these things in a new thread. Thanks.

While it doesn't speak to the technical attributes of the two frameworks, the "job trends":http://www.indeed.com/jobtrends?q=Qt,+wxWidgets is interesting, and gives some indication about the amount of use and growth of Qt relative to wxWidgets. Sometimes companies want reassurance of the safety of a choice more than the technical analysis.

bq. I think that at this point we just have to rely on the ongoing pushes of new updates and technology to be the proof that whatever is, is. If there is a reason for them to keep development going (and I believe there is), then we will continue to see proof from the results of what is coming out of the oven. Until we all know the big picture, that’ll have to be sufficient. I, personally, am content with that for the time being.

Sebastian Nyström of Nokia today cleared things in his blog post "Qt and Digia, facts and fiction":http://blog.qt.nokia.com/2011/03/14/qt-and-digia-facts-and-fiction/.

Important quote for this discussion is

bq. Nokia will continue to invest in the development of Qt, continues to hold the copyright and will continue to publish Qt under an open source license benefitting the whole community.

[quote author="mlong" date="1299795532"]There's nothing really to test. I've been using fullscreen widgets for years, and it works great. It's not a hack to make it work or anything. Just need to set the QWidget::fullScreen property on your whatever your root widget is and, voila, it works.

    See "here":http://doc.qt.nokia.com/4.7-snapshot/qwidget.html#fullScreen-prop for details.

I’m not talking about this, but real fullscreen, like SDL’s.

The fact that Nokia is going to release their smart phones with WP7, doesn't necessarily mean they will be doing tablets and other stuff with WP7.
