Thanks for explanation. That makes sense. It makes especially sense for this forum, because the pictures are stored somewhere else causing most likely a broken link sometime later. I will add a comment to Volker's bug report giving a better explanation in the dialog box.

Andre is onto the logic we're aiming at[1]. "Points" represent "activity" while a "thank you" feature would represent "reputation". We would treat those two values separably - as in real life[2]. Badges will be earned from both values - different ones. The QnA feature has reputation gathering features like marking a post as helpful or marking a post as "the answer". We will start gathering the data from Day 1 (also from older threads, fear not) while we will not have a humorous system like the ranks in place for a while. Ideas welcome though :)

fn1. Disclaimer; I haven't spoken to Alexandra about this for a while - the QnA feature and upcoming Qt 4.8 doc release has kept us busy from a devnet perspective (not to mention devdays!) - so she could have changed her mind.

fn2. Not ruling out combination badges! Like "the currently most revered gene splicer".

Thanks auotila, we don't support 100% of textile as you have experienced. I'll add this to the wish list as it indeed makes good sense to have.

It's weird perhaps, but that is how it is. I can recommend using the developer.nokia.com image upload feature, think of it as a partner service :)

It's a developer service from Nokia so it's more close to the DevNet than just any site.

This bug got fixed in the last release :)

It looks a bit like we have to press "enter" twice and the "add tag" is working with a single hit.
I have tested this with "new tag" which is not in the list yet. It appeared that with pressing "enter" once you may wait for ever. This might indicate that pressing "enter" the first time is just confirming that you are choosing this value. The second "enter" would send it to the server.
However, this is all guess work. The Trolls will know better.
Probably we just have to get used to it.

The situation described in the last post of Andre sounds very reasonable. We must make sure that a user who has entered some text somewhere is not urged to re-type it because of some warning coming into the way.
