The recommended approach in Qt 6 is to NOT have a *.qrc file at all. Instead, add your files directly to qt_add_resources().

I suppose the reason may be the documentation which has not been built. A small remark about what I am trying to achieve. I do not need a fully signed relocatable app bundle which can be installed on any machine. I just want to try to develop a small feature for Qt Creator. But this feature depends on Info.plist and will not work if I run Qt Creator from the build directory. If I understand correctly, the idea behind just cmake --install . was to achieve exactly this: non-relocatable app bundle for debug purposes which does not contain dependencies. And it works if I build Qt Creator against the Qt from Homebrew. But when Qt Creator is build against self-built Qt, this approach does not work and I need to build a full-fledged app bundle with all the dependencies. cmake --install . --prefix ../install_qtcreator --component Dependencies step takes a lot of time and it is not convenient for debugging.

@nnpyro Try Qt Creator 21. There are fixes for this use case.

Sorry; I would have edited the post but the site does not allow me. The error message I posted was from when I had my custom debugging helpers on. Them being on or not (or even present) has no impact on this failure, but they do change the error message slightly and I didn't want to confuse the issue with that oversight. For me (Arch Linux) its this library: unixodbc Installing the library fixed that issue. using this config it loaded: ---@type vim.lsp.Config return { cmd = { 'qmlls6' }, -- may be 'qmlls' for you depending on distro filetypes = { 'qml', 'qmljs' }, root_markers = { '.git' }, }

Hi alex, i took me some time, i had to restructure the project so many components would become static libraries, but i have to say it was for the better. I like how everything became organized. Thanks for the pointers!
