The device was updated to QT 4.7 using that of the Symbian^3 Developer Version and I installed the mobility 1.1 from file: qt-mobility-symbian-1.1.0-symbian3-nokia-signed.sis
I did that update becuse the N8 was hard reset and I reinstalled the qt using the Qt_4_7_for_Symbian_3_Developer_Version_v1_0_en.zip
My opinion is that there is no generic Best way of "layout-ing" the widgets.
In the end both methods are going to be C++ code (most likely very similar C++ code).
The only big difference is who is writing the C++ code you write it, or the UIC generate it (using the designer xml as a "pattern").
If you want to check this just open an ui_UIFILENAME.h and see the implementation of the setupUi(...) method.
So to choose one way or the other, you need to think of what is convenient for you: the time you need to write the code for Widgets/Layouts vs the time you need to achieve the same result using Designer.
Basically is the same for the application/code/compiler, it only depends on what is convenient for you: what are you most productive with, or what do you like, or maybe some simple dialogs (with simple layouts) are fast to code and some more complex layouts are easier to implement in the Designer.

At this stage, you can make use of symbian native platform APIs for making call and other such telephony API requirements.
Colman. I can't remember where but I read about what a thing was a similar issue (some key events that were always processed by "qt" and would never make to the event loops). The solutions was to deal with other event functions on QApplication, like:
Have you tried those?
There was some other approach too but I can't remember what it was.
You can try to add
LIBS += -Wl,-rpath,/opt/qt/qte-4.6.3/lib
This adds the lib path to your binary. See the end of the section 3.4 of http://tldp.org/HOWTO/Program-Library-HOWTO/shared-libraries.html
yes if it is your design decision, about the previous sample , i noticed that it scale not very well , i mean by adding more items in the kinetic listView the system became to slow.Widget are quite heavyweight , the approach with the graphicalViewItem solved the probs...
How is this related to Qt?
Still can't start connection. I added qgenericbearerd4.dll into my application folder\bearer and now can see configurations.
I have capabilities - 0x10, so seems that I can't start connection.
Also I have list with 3 configurations:
TNETW12511 - I guess wifi
Automatic Tunneling Pseudo-Interface
when I'm trying to start I have error "The specified configuration cannot be used"
When I switched on edge I've got one more connection - Cellular Line
Anybody tryed to start internet connection from WinMobile with qt 4.7 application?

Well yes, previously submitted applications - as in an application which is taken verbatim from your repository and just recompiled for some mobile target can't be submitted. Or, more specifically, it's a guideline: You can do that, but it shows no effort, and thus would be... More than very unlikely to win ;)

Is it possible to download those API.
Not recommended as it was TP and now it has been updated. There is a camera example available for Symbian at Forum Nokia. You will have to adapt it to use with Qt.
you can use your .ui files for the individual pages. These can be designed in designer, and then loaded as pages for your sliding view. That should work just fine.
You can extend the sliding-stacked-widget to a proper designer plugin. That way, you will be able to use it directly from designer itself.

Which IDE are you using? Are you trying to import a project in Carbide? If it is carbide I faced the same problem months back. I deleted all the built files and related files in epoch32 folder. Sorry, i lost that link which explained all these and i stopped using carbide.
Above will solve the issue of ball not moving if player keeps moving finger frantically on the screen.
It will not solve issue where no paint events occur when touch driver spams the system. From your prints even the fast movement still gets paint events, though not every time. If you really want draw on each touch event then spontaneous paint event might be what you are looking for, but beware it will not get rid of jumping paddle effect. Actually it will make it worse as then player experiences moments where: "hey this is not where my finger was!" - game over.

Are you looking for help in porting. I thought this thread was about which device you waned to purchase for testing.[/quote]
That is exactly my goal with this thread. (of course it is related to porting applications to symbian once this is why I need symbian phone(s) )
And more, not try make something difficult now. move bit by bit.
For example you want create RSS aggregator application, for begin create simple application, which will download some web-page in local file on your device. After your might add XML parser and etc.

Thanks again for the comment. That's exactly what I have done - I put Qt 4.7.1. libraries on N8 and C7-00 and then I run the example. I have mde two builds (one against 4.7.1/S60 5th(S^1) SDK and one build against 4.6.3/S^3 SDK) and the result was much worse - applications crashes quite often, many things did not work and did not run faster as I believed...
You can not put the Qt 4.7.1 in N8 , which already contain Qt 4.6.3.
By doing this the application is going to be crashed,
You have to wait for the official announcement for the update of the Qt library in Symbian^3 devices.
My applications are working with the developer version of the Qt 4.7 for Symbian^3 though.
