    @Christian-Ehrlicher and All Hi, I got an error message that the query is incorret. So my first understanding was that it requires encoded spaces. I finally realised that ther was a typo. So it works now with not encoded spaces. The missleading error message directed me into completley wrong direction. Sorry for eating up your time and thank you all for helping me. I really appreciate it. Thanks and regards, Laszlo

    @JKSH Hey, thanks for the answer and sorry for the very late reply. My path: C:\Qt\5.15.2\msvc2019\bin The bitness of the windeploy.exe in that path is 32-bit. It seems I misunderstood/forgot how the windeployqt is used, that I need to run it for each new release. The dll:s still are of different bitness from the application's .exe but I guess that's fine then... It works now.

    @Ketan__Patel__0011 :) OK. This thread is asking about a particular problem, "duplicate keys", which I don't think QSettings will handle as the OP wishes.

    @Ketan__Patel__0011 said in QtLocation hangs when running osm: if there is any problem with that video links i can delete that post. No, that's fine, they serve a purpose, no problem, you are good. Just they do not always tackle the particular issue someone might raise in a thread here.

    @Rockerz I presume your bytearray is wrong, you can use much simpler code like that: QByteArray data1; data1.append("#1P="); int value=1200; data1.append(QString("%1").arg(value,5,10,QChar('0')).toLocal8Bit()); qDebug()<<QString(data1); QByteArray data2; value=10200; data2.append("#1P="); data2.append(QString("%1").arg(value,5,10,QChar('0')).toLocal8Bit()); qDebug()<<QString(data2); "#1P=01200" "#1P=10200"

    @SGaist said in macOS menu bar after hiding window: One possible way could be to activate Finder. See this stack overflow answer. That's not exactly what I need since I want to activate previously active app, not Finder. Calling NSApp.hide seems to work though. @mpergand said in macOS menu bar after hiding window: There is a solution by calling NSApp.hide() on Cocoa, but it's a little bit tricky... What's the tricky part? I don't see any issues at the first glance.

    That's not the case here. Qt is only rebuilt wenn the container it lives in is updated.

    @HoaiNam10TH Create a new widget with a layout and add some space for the icon/profile pic, some labels for name and number and one for the last sent message. The online/offline red and green dot can be custom drawn onto the widget or placed as an image. Also you might want to have a look at QListWidget and QListView I bet there are also some Qt chat and messenger examples around.

    @JacobNovitsky What does, "does not call terminal" mean? Running something with nohup as you have done will mean it neither reads from nor writes to the shell it was launched from (if there was one).

    @mzimmers said in Subclassing items in a model: It's still not clear to me how the program knows not to call the base class method (which, while it does nothing, still does exist) and instead invoke the appropriate subclass method. But I guess I'll just trust it. Have a read of just the first couple of paragraphs of Wikipedia's Virtual method table. In C++ when an object is created it gains access to a table of pointers to functions specific to its class, including dealing with virtual/overrides.

    @Stavros-Vaionitis said in The timeout slot is not fired when the timer is called from a separate thread in the main(): I thought that the main event loop is accessible from all the threads th Every thread has it's own event loop started inside QThread::run(): https://doc.qt.io/qt-6/qthread.html#details And @JonB already told you this two posts above.

    @JonB Thank you for your response. Everything appears to be functioning correctly after making the code modifications based on your suggestions. Also, thank you for your comments; I will reconsider whether it's possible to modify my program structure without using QStackedWidget. Wishing you a wonderful day!

    @SGaist What are the standard UDP specs that QMediaPlayer Can read? at the moment I am trying to view this, gst-launch-1.0 videotestsrc pattern=ball ! video/x-raw,width=640,height=480 ! x264enc ! rtph264pay ! udpsink host=127.0.0.1 port=5600 code_text as a test stream. Final goal is to use a viewpro camera udp output. I tried to find the formats that can stream via QMediaPlayer and didn't find much.
